Yes, Seattle is one of the most amazing cities in the United States and it is frequently on the "top ten best places to live" lists. It’s a large enough city that you can find just about everything you want to fill your interests. The people are friendly and very independent. Seattle beauty as breathtaking, even for those of us who have been long-time residents.
“Did you see the Mountain today?” is a frequent question heard on a clear day in the city. The metropolitan area is surrounded by Lake Washington on one side and Puget Sound on the other, plus mountain ranges to the east and to the west. And of course, there is Mt. Rainer! Our jewel.
The drawbacks? Real estate prices have soared in the last decade and affordability is getting to be for fewer and fewer people. Rain? Yes, it does rain frequently, but you get used to it. It does not rain every day, but any means. July through September and often into October are generally pretty dry with the occasional shower or sprinkle. I can tell you, there is nothing like a clear day in Seattle – remember that old song, “The Bluest Skies You’ve Ever Seen are in Seattle”?
The job market is good. It’s considered the most highly educated city in the nation. Great professional sports teams, performing and visual arts, and lots of outdoor recreation.
I love Seattle and have lived in the fine city for more than 50 years!
