The best is the Coast Starlight. The fare will depend on when you travel, the number of stops, and how early you book before you have to travel. You can book directly on their website or at AAA or other travel agents. Sometimes you can get a better deal at AAA if it is part of a tour pkg.

Looks like you got plenty of answers, but why would you take a train (long ride, many stops, and high fares) when you could fly?

Additionally, some airlines will let you use mileage toward Amtrak tickets.

go to www.amtrak.com to find fares...I do not think that they are sold anywhere else
